A common target
Finally got to sleep last nite. Reached home at ard 5.30pm, ate instant mee goreng, slept from 6pm to 6am (woke up for a min at 11pm and decided to go back to sleep). I thought that I'd dreamt abt Chris calling me to tell me abt the time change in singing lesson and confirmed abt it when he called me again this afternoon (coz he suspected that I was half-dead when I answered his call). ^^;
Today, I found a common target among colleagues...
Scenario:
I was teaching my dear P2 class for an hour. I left the class thinking that my lesson ended. My dear students did not realise that there's one more period tt I have wif them. Made my way down with my eyes still bulging from the shock that I received after looking at the timetable on my desk, and saw Marco and gang running to me telling me there's another period. Decided to teach Moral Ed, since I was finally able to catch up wif the CL lesson schedules.
Incident:
While teaching Moral Ed to my P2 class, this porky called thru the intercom to my class, and asked for a malay pupil. Told the porky that I was having a Chinese class, so he's not in MY class. Told that porky to try looking for the malay pupil thru the MALAY TEACHER IN HIS MALAY CLASS.
Porky screamed: If I know where the malay student/teacher is, I wouldn't have to call you thru the intercom.
I was speechless. My class stared at me blankly. I was fuming mad. My students immediately kept quiet when they saw the fumes.
I replied to that porky: I dunno where the malay pupil is.
Porky replied: blah blah blah... Anyway, please inform the next teacher to get this pupil to go to the general office to collect his 2 books.
I opened my mouth. That porky hung up.
I started teaching a new Moral Ed. lesson to my P2 class. Topic, Why they should not behave like an asshole. Used the very nice example that they just saw, live. Very appropriate. For the first time, they saw me scolding another sch staff. Taught them how they shd react. How they shd not flare up. How they shd not think that having an INTERCOM system works miracles. Even my Primary Two kids know that the one in the general office can find ppl easily, compared to the one in the classroom. Why? Teacher have to teach. Teacher have a class to look after. The porky have lots of time to go check who is at what place doing what.
This porky is the one screaming at students to line up after recess everyday. He forgot that my P2 is going for recess right after my Moral Ed. Tell the next teacher? Pui.
Anyway the malay boy came back to class just in time be4 I brought my CL pupils to recess. Told him to go to the office and look for that porky.
Stormed into the HOD office to seek advice on how to handle this porky. (Wanted to scream at him directly but he sees me crossing the traffic light every morning at 7.10am. No, he is not the dog guarding our gate. But hell he sure behaves like one. Even the security guard behaves like a guard, not a dog.)
HOD was damn pleased that I looked for her. She had already been collecting complaints and evidence from the many colleagues. She will be lodging a complaint against this porky pretty soon.
This porky will be getting it from me if I get this kind of shit from him again. No, not the normal healthy kind of shit. It is those that u get from diarrhoea.
*Only if I can manage to reach sch be4 7am everyday. ^^;
in search of a dream
Guess what? I had been searching for a dream in 2 days. And I mean, the illusions that play in your mind while u are sleeping. Why? I haven't really slept in 2 days. Been working furiously on my lesson preps, and I still have not done those other work assigned to me yet. Haven't set Unit Tests, need to recreate the whole school website, now I see my name in the CA2 / SA2 setter list.
What I have done from last nite at 11pm till 5pm today:
Fell asleep accidentally between 11pm to 1am. Continued working until 5.15am, slept for 30mins, woke up, went to sch for gate duty at 7am, teach, teach, scold, scream, broke that long big yellow ruler after whacking the poor whiteboard in front of 40 monkeys, ate some snacks at 12.45pm, went for Contact Time from 1.15pm till 2pm dozing off in between the Fire Drill briefing, went for dept meeting till 4pm, stared at my pile of unmarked work for a few minutes, decided against marking, tried to do some other work, stared at the piles of unmarked work again, brought some more in from the shelves outside the staffroom, stared at the now-bigger piles of unmarked work, still refused to mark, went home at 5pm.
Boss and Head want me to take MORE initiatives and be pro-active. Head wants me to do things that ppl can see, and make sure that I make it known that I am doing. So here I am, posting it here so that EVERYONE sees that I am working hard. (to the wrong target audience? too tired to care now. Sleep, yes please. )

Just watched ayu perform her latest single "Fairyland". Wished I was like her, flaunting her stuff on and off stage. Will I ever become like that? Yeah, maybe during Teachers' Day / Children's Day.

We can also argue that
spend time working = get money
Hard fact, but then, to maximise life, you need to ensure that
A + B = C
where
A: Time spent working
B: Time spent doing other things
C: Time you boss THOUGHT that you are working, and you are paid C hours of work...
So in this way, you get money and get life, but dun waste that much life... the rates are different!!! yeh!!

OMG. Was damn touched reading one of the holiday assignments from my P6 class.
I was featured in Javier's assignment. I dunno what to say. It was simple, and he expressed his opinion in a non-exaggerated manner. I neva expected my students to think of me that way just because I went for that P6 edventure camp with them in Pahang (Malaysia). To me, it was simply a fun and enjoyable trip amidst the many mosquito bites. To him (or them maybe?), I became an angel? Just because I'd decided to stop screaming at them for once.
Curry flavour? Curry favour? Carry favour? Gao Por? Whatever you call it. No, he's not. Didn't felt that way at all while reading it. Shall post it somewhere here or in my class portal after I marked the work. Believe me, after screaming at a bunch of 100 over kids in a morning, this certainly changed my day into a better one. I still wished that I was described in another (better) way though. No, you dunwan to know how I was described in terms of appearance. (><)

I + C = R
P = S
For every P,
C = 2W
For every I,
C + P + S = R
C = 4W
I + C - P = R/2 or I + C = R/2
I + C + P + S = 2R
Question
S is a rare resource because C means 2W for P. (a) Show how you get R without P and S. (b) Derive W for I if you are able to answer part (a) of this question.
Confidence in the hairstylist
Finally dragged myself down to sch to pick up some leftover work to be done. Stayed there for barely 10 minutes, and made my way down to "ICON by Shunji Matsuo" at Isetan Orchard.
It can take me forever to style up my own hair and still be unsatisfied. However, I seem to have full or 99.9% confidence in the stylists. Perhaps becoz they are the real pros. I walked out with my hair standing in all directions, yet I felt comfortable and walked with pride, oblivious to certain stares at me every now and then.
With that air of confidence, I had a shopping spree in Isetan Orchard and Isetan Scotts. Why Isetan? Coz they are having sales, and I have the Isetan credit card. Discounts on top of discounts. Woo~
This is the kind of life I wanna have! More!!! Gimme more!
When loneliness sets in...
Wonder why many kids nowadays are so lonely even at home. Neva really felt that way when i was their age SLIGHTLY more than a decade ago. Ok, sometimes i did but somehow it got passed quickly. And I really liked going to school (minus the homework) even up till the NIE/NTU days. As much as most of us dun like to study, we still love going to school everyday. Coz that's when u get to meet your friends and play/suffer/quarrel/fight together.
Since returning to teaching after wasting most of the 2years 4months somewhere in Singapore, it seemed that my working hours got extended to almost 24hrs.

7pm - ZZZ => Dinner / Marking / Preparing for lessons /TV / Final Fantasy XI online / ZZZ

Just realised that teachers like me are the worst paid nannies/maid. You got to "bao" everything. Educator (sch/home), Counseller/Advisor, Friend, Acting-Family-Member, you name it, we got it.
Sometimes it is hard to differentiate whether I am just working 24hrs round the clock, or am I doing my part as a friend of these kids?
Whatever. My current motto: Get me a life. Sch ends at 1pm Mondays to Fridays.
Moto Razr V3
Got this Black edition Motorola Razr V3 mobile phone in april. Bought it at abt $800 from a shop in Sim Lim Square as an exported item then, coz the Black Razr V3 had not been released in SG. Not even news of it had been heard (I hardly read anyway...).
Now? $500+ from Singtel, Starhub, etc.
I should have waited but my Nokia 8850 was really giving up on me. It refuses to function for me anymore. And that Panasonic GD88 is losing its loyalty for me too. Have I been neglecting it too much? Most of the time it sleeps on my bed while Black Razr V3 goes along wif me everywhere. Well, it IS really slim and compact... GD88, time for u to slim down.

Nice melody, nice remix done by ayu and gang (original song by some other band), and great lyrics by ayu. Her upcoming single, Alterna, seems pretty (and alternately) nice too.
